Can anyone help with the following Adobe Reader 7 problem. We produce PDF files of map data via an application supplied by ESRI, called ArcGIS Server 9.1. Some large PDF files will open fine in Adobe Reader versions 5 and 6. When the same files are opened in version 7.05 and 7.08, we get the following error:

"There was a problem reading this document (18)."

If the <CTRL> key is pressed when clicking OK, we get the following message:

"Expected a name object."

The PDF comprises a set of graphic map elements, with surrounding elements such as a company logo, north arrow, scale bar and coordinate information. Virtually all of the PDF draws before the error is displayed. The only parts of the map which do not draw are some text elements around the outside of the map.

We can open the PDFs in Illustrator, but none of the text displays apart from some bold text elements. Given that the file opens fine in Adobe Reader 5 and 6, can anyone suggest what changed in Adobe Reader 7 which might be causing the above errors.
