We have had a similar problem with Acrobat 7 on numerous machines in our Department. In our case, the most obvious problem is that subscripted and superscripted words, as well as figure legends and other special text in .pdf files display as Greek symbols. I will try the fix. BTW, it not appear to be just the operating system(Windows XP Professional, regularly updated), and it is hard to believe that multiple computers have the same corrupted files. I re-installed Acrobat version 6, and everything worked again. I have recently re-installed Acrobat 7.08 with all the updates available and the problem came back. It seems more likely to be an unsolved conflict between the OS and Acrobat.
