I have a pdf document which displays properly in acroread and ghostscript (gv) on Solaris. Acroread shows its fonts as "embedded subset", a variety of CM* fonts,Type 1, Encoding Roman. I presume that these are Computer Modern with origin from Latex. If I "print to file" from acroread I get a postscript file which has font issues went sent to any of our Xerox postscript printers. Most notably text which the postscript shows as in CMTT10 is spaced incorrectly. This postscript file does display properly in gv. I can work around the problem by converting the original pdf to postscript with "pdf2ps" (ghostscript based), which generates a file that prints properly on the Xerox printers. But I'm tryiing to understand what the problem is with the acroread (7.0) generated postscript, and why the postscript printers don't use the embedded subset fonts correctly.
