When I'm in Internet Explorer and click on a PDF file, my older version of Acrobat is launched instead of my new version of Reader. Often, the resulting screen is blank when the progress report states "Done". However, if I go to the same URL with another browser and select the same file, Reader is launched and works perfectly. Is there something that can be changed using IE's Tools/Manage Add-Ons to resolve this frustrating issue? I reported it to Adobe but never heard back.
