But really, really, vital. Windows XP is not just an upgrade to
Windows Me, but an entirely different system: everything is different,
but it looks much the same.

Expect to take a couple of days, and to lose the use of several
programs. You might want to consider installing dual boot, so you can
boot back to your Windows Me system to use the things that aren't
working in XP.

>Do you know an easy way to do it?

Start by rounding up all of your disks, and all serial numbers etc.
If you purchased anything for download, and only have it on hard disk,
burn it to CD.

For each program you run, do not simply assume it will work in Windows
XP. Check with the maker of the program. You might need an upgrade, or
to purchase a new version, or it might just not work.

>I've got loads of programmes & not all of them are on separate disks.

You need to be very systematic. Don't be tempted to assume that the
upgrade path will make your life easier.
