I too had the message "Cannot find or create the font 'Arial'.Some characters may not display or print correctly."

I have no idea why, but uninstalling/reinstalling does not fix it. It is unique to Acrobat Reader 7. The problem came as installed on a new computer w/Windows XP.

I removed Reader 7 and installed 6. Works great.

Too bad Adobe's people can't seem to post a fix for this very common problem. Of course, it could be a problem with XP. Either way, Adobe needs to address this issue.
