I had the same problem too - turned out the installer cache information in the registry that the Windows Installer uses to keep track of patches (msp files) was missing all information for Adobe Reader. Not quite sure how it went missing... (key was under here > hklm\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\installer\userdata\s-1-5-18...) Using the MSI cleanup tool fixed it quickly. Spelldict.msi isn't even a Adobe Reader package - which is in fact a self contained msi file.
