I have had the same message, "Your Adobe software could not be activated. The Adobe DRM Activator is not responding" and after a few days and three adobe support people I have found a solution. I was told Adobe 7.0.8 is not working well with ebooks and you should download 6.0. Uninstall 7.0.8 Go to Adobe products and under Adobe 7.0.8n hit the "Choose a different version" YOu have to lie to the system that you have Windows '98 or it will try to download 7.0.8 again. Download 6.0 Make sure your ebook files are deleted or moved. And make sure all your temorary internet files are deleted. Also that your internet security is disabled during download. I hope this helps.
