James, If you are using a Quark method of creating PDF files, then you need to contact them. If you are using Acrobat Distiller, then you should be posting in the Acrobat forum, not the Reader forum. Assuming the latter, the cause could stem from your creation of a postscript file using a B&W printer's ppd. You should use the Distiller ppd instance to create pdf files. If you need more help please post the exact methods of your workflow in a new topic in the Acrobat Mac or Acrobat Win forum. Mike
