Greetings, We're running Adobe Reader 8.1.2, and Acrobat Standard 8.1.3 on our client machines (XP Pro). Our clients need to access documents on a network share (Win2k3 R2)located on a server in which there is a hardware VPN connection between the office and server rack. When our clients try to open a PDF (anything from 500KB to 1.5 MB), it takes more than a minute to open the file, with little output. I've disabled Windows Defender, and actually upgraded Reader(v9) on one client machine. While this reduces the performance problem by 30%, it is still not ideal. Our clients are complaining about loss of productivity, and we need a solution to this. I've tested this from one of our test machines that have a similar topology to theirs', and a PDF opens up quickly. My guess would be problems with miscallenious plugins, firewalls, etc, but I wanted more of an expert opinion. Also, could someone point me to that piece of software for "lightning speed" when opening PDFs. I saw it referenced before on these forums, but I can't find it anymore... Thanks.
