Using AJAX or Javascript to Postback FDF Data

I have a web page with an embedded PDF form. This form takes 30 minutes to fill out and sometimes a user's session ends (do to server errors) before the user presses the save button on the PDF form. What I want to do is save the data every so often to protect the user from losing their work. Is there a way with javascript to request the open instance of Adobe Reader embedded in the web page to Postback the PDF data. So that I can save it?
