      I can open the PDF attachments, however I cannot open the .doc




That's because Reader doesn't open .doc file.

You need Microsoft Word for that.

There is a free Word document reader available at <http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=95E24C87-8732-48D5-8689-AB826E7B8FDF&displaylang=en>

It's the same idea as Reader but made for .doc files.
