I had V7 of adobe (for XP) and read that I should install V9 for security reasons. I tried to download Adobe 9 a couple of months ago and it invoked my ATI Display adapter installer instead. I thought I was mad and tried in vain to remove my display adapter software so that Adobe could not find the wrong exe. I gave up and then had another go recently. Having stumbled across the forum and having read all these threads (#45, #56, #75, #76 and others) I have tried (running process monitor and tracing the execution of the adobe utility) I can see the path to the C:\ATI\SUPPORT\7-8_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_50960\Driver\CCC\setup.exe it is running. Problem is that I can not rename the directory as it seems this is the actual directory windows is using for my device drivers. Moving the file just causes the installer to finish at the 99% mark and do nothing. I ran regedit, however for an un-installed product, these seems to be an awful lot entries with Adobe in the registry. I sure hope these Adobe people get a better install process sorted. Peter G
