The answer has been offered before -but here goes again. WARNING-Editing the Registry is Dangerous! You do so at your own risk. It is wise to make a backup copy of the Registry and a Restore Pont-for Windows XP SP2 users. With that legal notice out of the way--start by uninstalling with Add/Remove. Then manually remove ALL folders for Adobe Reader-ONLY. Now you will use Start/Run and type Regedit. You will have the Registry on screen and you will want to open each of the headings and look for ALL references to Adobe Reader. DO NOT delete anything else. If this method bothers you too much, try using one of the FREE or commercial Registry cleaners such as Crap Cleaner (www.ccleaner.com) and Ashampoo WinOptimizer (free trial). Once you have done all of this Reboot the machine. Download a fresh copy of Reader 8 to a folder you create (I use Temp) and run from there. Good luck
