There are a number of messages that have a solution-a complete uninstall done using a combination of Add/Remove, Windows Install Cleanup utility, and then manual removal of everything Adobe Reader related. It is best to use a Registry cleaner unless you are really comfy with doing it manually. This will give you a "clean" environment to install Reader 8. WARNING--Editing the Registry can be Dangerous. You do so at your own risk.
