Reader 8 Zebra Printer setup issue

We have to update from Adobe Reader 7.0 to 8.0. When we update the Reader it doesn't hold printer setting. The main thing we are worried about is a Zebra printer that is currently installed on 1200 machines and is under multiple user log ons on those machines.

The real problem is that we will have a huge task of upgrading Adobe, then renaming and recreating profiles on the machines, then moving user data. The settings for this Zebra printer are configured in Adobe, and when the upgrade is run it removes all previous versions and all settings. Please advise if you have any ideas on how we can overcome this issue.
