I have, over the past several years, been downloading text books with Adobe. I get Adobe reader updates whenever they become available. I am now unable to download new DRM locked files. I am getting the message "file is damaged and could not be repaired". I have a passport account. I am in Adobe reader version 7.0. I went to file-digital editions-authorize devices. I clicked to "re-activate" without using passport (only option available to me) and I get the following message:

"Your Adobe software could not be activated. Failed to load XML.XML document must have a top level element at line0column0
Soap info: client : client
fault location 22
contact customer support"

....?
