Well I guess no one has an answer for this issue? And, "this issue" renders AR8 completely useless on my system! :( So I removed it and reinstalled AR 7.0.9 and everything works again. FWIW my system is: Win XP SP2/ IE7 and, as I mentioned above, the video card is NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64.
