I recently downloaded the newest version of Adobe 8.0 onto my Dell Inspiron laptop(SP2). However, I got an error message saying "Adobe Reader 8.0 has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." It gives an option to "Send Error Report" or "Don't Send". Either way, a new box appears that says "Adobe Reader:AcroRd32.exe-Application Error. The instruction at "0x2d88727b" referenced memory at "0x00000008." The memory could not be read."

I have spent over 3 hours tring to fix the corrupted files, uninstall and redownload, call technical support from both Adobe and Dell, but nothing seems to open the program. The only help I received from Adobe was that the download was successful but it's my computer that won't allow me to open the files.

Please help! I am a teacher and I use Adobe Reader frequently. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or should I just uninstall and reinstall the older version that seemed to work fine on my computer?
