A couple of days ago I started having trouble with Adobe. I have WindowsXP wiht SP2. When I tried to download a document from a website the following message appeared,"Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close. The following add-on was running when this problem occurred: Add-on name: AcraPDF.dll;Company name:Adobe Systems;Description:Adobe PDF browser control."
  I then tried to remove the Adobe 7.0.8 program and could not. This time a message appeared saying, "This patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."
  I then downloaded Adobe Reader 8.0 successfully but it would not install because the older 7.0.8 version is on my computer, which of course I cannot remove.
    Can anyone help, I am at a loss. thank you
