It was recommended to check the printer's firmware. However, the HP LaserJet 2420dn printer already had the latest printer firmware, and I updated the firmware for the JetDirect card, but it still closes Acrobat when trying to print any PDF document to this printer. We rebooted our printer server and tried restarting the Print Spooler service, and still no luck. I tried changing the printer driver to PCL from PS and it worked great. But every time you try to use the PS driver on the HP 2420, it closes Adobe Reader 8. We have two identical HP LaserJet 2420dn printers and I verified this on both printers. It was always my understanding that it was best to use the PostScript driver whenever printing PDF�s or anything Adobe-related. I guess perhaps the newest version of Adobe Reader still has some bugs with that particular PS driver. Any ideas?
