I have a pdf file which contains a USPS shipping label.

If it is displayed/printed using Adobe Reader 6 or 7 it displays and prints correctly.

With Adobe Reader 8, on each line of text the spaces between characters are filled with dashes.
For example "790 US HIGHWAY 84"
shows up as "790-US-HIGHWAY-84"

And "USPS PRIORITY MAIL"
shows up as "USPS-PRIORITY-MAIL".

I am not sure if there is a bug in the pdf or in Adobe Reader 8.

How should I go about figuring out the cause of the problem.

Thank for any help in tracking down this issue.
