Web Link Inactive After Internet Explorer Child Window Closed

Hi,

Situation: I open a page with Internet Explorer 7 where that page
contains an href link which in turns opens a new window
(target="_blank"). I then open and close the href linked page. Then
open a pdf with Acrobat Reader 7 which contains a web link. Link does
nothing. Bad.

If I leave the href window open, then clicking the web link within the
pdf reuses that window. Good.

If I close the IE session that had opened and then closed the href,
then the web link opens a new IE session. Good.

I've written a web app that makes extensive use of opening/closing
child windows. App also generates pdfs with web links. This combination
causes me the problem described above.

Questions:
Any suggestions on how to work around this problem?

My real preference would be to be able to construct a web link in the
pdf that would open the link in a new IE window (stop the IE window
reuse). Is there any way that I can force that to happen, keeping in
mind that I have a distributed user base that I would prefer could keep
thier default settings for IE and Acrobat reader?

Brian
