Adobe error 1312

Interrupted download of Adobe update, tried to install update and now after download is complete get "error 1313 cannot create directory c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\adobe a file with this name already exists. delete or rename". I tried to completely remove adobe and searched for all files named adobe or acrobat and removed them and tried a fresh install and always get same message. I see no file of this name in documents. I tried removing all files in registry named adobe and still does same thing.
