We are having this issue as well when going from 7.0.x to 8.0 reader. We are having an even bigger problem is 8.0 is already installed and we try to run Adobe Pro 7.0.9 updates for our users. This results in about 30 or so registry permission errors. On a few machines we have went through and changed permissions on all of the keys. This is a bad idea. It resulted in another machine being rebuilt, even though we followed an adobe fix sheet. Overall we've had to rebuild around 10 systems. As far as we can tell, hitting ignore seems to work fine on most the systems, but we have way too many on our domain to be able to update each manually.

to follow up with more info... what we've found most effective is removing 7.0.8 pro and reinstalling 7.0.9 pro. we try to remove all readers off of a system with pro, but it happens. we have also been exploring turning off the update manager. we are trying to figure out the best way to implement the bupdate key to all of the systems to remove the check update option from all versions. figuring out how to get the 7.0.9 updatemanager from the startup will be another problem. what is the fix to make these registry errors not show up? is this a problem with the 7.0.9 update or a conflict b/t 7.x and 8.x reader/pro or all of the above?

Also called adobe about this and they wanted a credit card. not bad service for a DoD domain with 1500 licenses of pro active on it.
