Am using Windows XP op sys. Been trying to download v 8.0 of Acrobat Reader but each time all appears to be normal until it comes to actually installing the program at which time I get the following message: "This patch package could not be opened. Verify that patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installed patch package."

Prior to this action the latest Reader version I had was 7.0.8 which was NOT functioning properly. But I tried "uninstalling" it but it will NOT uninstall. And it appears that in order to update to the newere 8.0 version it requires that the previous versions including this 7.0.8 version...be uninstalled. Would appreciate suggestions on what I can do to uninstall the 7.0.8 version so I can install the 8.0 version. Thanks for any help. Randy in Michigan
