Clicking on any PDF file opens Photoshop instead of Adobe Reader

PC, WindowsXP SP2,
Whenever I try to open a PDF file Photoshop 5.0LE unsuccessfully tries to open the file instead of Adobe 8.0 opening the file. If I want to open a
PDF file, I have to right click the file and choose "Open with Adobe 8.0"
from the popup menu. Its frustrating for other family members who don't use the computer often enough to remember.
