Can't remove Reader 7.0x

When I tried to run the update of Reader 7.0x to the current version of 7.09, the installer gets about 2/3rds thru and the stops staying it can't continue. I've tried removing Reader 7 and it says it can't find the uninstaller script.

I've tried downloading 7.09 and doing a "fresh install." that didn't work. I've also tried to install Reader 8.0 over the current 7.0x to no avail.

Questions:
Where might the uninstaller script be to remove 7.0x?

I don't feel comfortable going into the bowels of the registry to "hack" stuff.
