How do I uninstall Adobe Reader 7.0.8 from my computer? I am using MS Windows XP Pro.

When I click on a link to download a pdf document, I go to the site, but then the system freezes. When I try to upgrade to Ver.8, I get error 1714 message. Adobe Manager asks me to uninstall the old Adobe first. When I go to Remove/Add programs to remove Adobe 7.0.8, It says I am missing files. When I go to programs - Adobe I can't find an uninstall link there either. Please HELP!!!!
