Adobe reader 8 on XP.

I wish to disable the 'hand tool with downward pointing arrow' that zooms in when clicked. I want just a plain handtool with no special features. Im sure some people love the features but i do not.

Annoyingly some files I open have just the plain hand tool for scrolling but then other files have this hand tool with a black downward pointing arrow inside the hand cursor. What decides this difference.

If this feature can not be disabled then how many versions back do i have to go to lose this feature.
thanks for any help.
