Hi Everyone

I received an auto update from Adobe this morning and when I tried to install it, I got a message to say that there was a file on my computer with the same name as the one to be installed; did I want to replace it or install it in another location? I chose "replace". Halfway through the installation I got another message to say a problem had been encountered and the upgrade could not proceed.

I tried uninstalling Adobe Reader, but Windows came back with a message to say "The patch package could not be opened. Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer patch package."

Then I tried reinstalling Adobe 8 over top of what's there already and, toward the end of the installation process, got another message that said, "the older version of Adobe Reader 8 cannot be removed. Contact your technical support group".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
