I have the same or similar problem with Adobe Reader 8.0. I have several User Accounts on my computer, and Adobe Reader works fine in every one but the User Account I use the most. When I start AR in my Account, the mouse curser changes to an hourglass for a very short time and nothing happens. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it a couple of times, and I have deleted the preference files in my Application Data directory. (Oh, I’m sorry, I should say “folder” not “directory.” I have never completely left DOS behind.) When I start AR again, it still does not start, and the folders are not recreated as Adobe’s Troubleshooting page suggest it will do. I am cretin the problem lays in my Windows Registry, but I am not willing to root around in there with out some clear plan created by someone who knows more than I do. Does anyone with any ideas?
