Restore last view settings when reopening documents

I just installed Adobe Reader 8.0.0. Under "preferences", "documents", I have checked the box "Restore last view settings when reopening documents". I find this a VERY useful feature (when it works) - to be able to return to the same place in a document after closing it and then reopening it. This feature seems to have come and gone in various versions of Adobe Reader. Is it really supposed to work in version 8, and maybe I'm missing something?
