Toolbar background problem with 256 colour resolution

Following an upgrade to version 8 from 7.0.8 some of our Citrix users are having problems with the background colour on the menu bar and toolbars. The users have screen resolution set to 256 colours and this makes the background appear as a shaded pattern rather than a colour. Is it possible to change the background colour?
