Hi,
We are experiencing numerous and inconsistent errors while trying to download PDFs from our webserver. Recently we switched servers and decided to put our sensitive forms behind a secure server with a valid certificate, authenticated using LDAP to our network Active Directory. Previously, just the LDAP authentication was required, but the information was not encrypted and we didn't like having LDAP passwords passed using cleartext.

The problem is, we now have issues with some PCs downloading some forms and not others, or some PCs have no problems, or some PCs Internet Explorer has problems but not Firefox. If I put the same exact forms on a non-secure area, they load up fine.

The problem would point towards the Internet Explorer we have, but that is also inconsistent...some are at IE7, some IE6, and some work fine, and others don't. No pattern to what would cause this, and IE security is generally set at medium.

The reader versions are also mixed...most have Acrobat reader 6.0, some have 7.08, some have 8.0, but this doesn't appear to make a difference (upgrading a PC yields the same results).

The pdfs are also mixed - some are simple forms that download fine, others are a little more complex with some fields to fill in, that do not download, others are very large pdfs that just give a blank screen (the usual symptom when it doesn't work)

Any ideas? Patches from Microsoft? Thanks much in advance...you can imagine the pressure I am getting from mahogany row that they cant download their vacation request form!
