Its not clear: Quote: "The Adobe Updater 5.1.1 update requires that ... or Adobe Reader๏ฟฝ 8 is installed on your system." So my understanding from that quote is that Adobe Reader 8 used Adobe Updater. What I do know is that Adobe Reader tries to update itself by downloading the same update file thousands of times through my proxy server!
