Is there a known issue with Adobe Reader 6.0 reading 5.x PDFs backward-generated by PDF producers 6.0 and 7.0? Several people in my company who are testing some links to a PDF file on our webserver see only a blank window. They all have Adobe Reader 6.0 and Internet Explorer on their machines. Some of them reported that they were able to open the PDFs once, got an automatic update, and then were never able to open the PDFs again. All of them eventually just see a blank browser window. Some of them have been able to fix the problem by downloading other updates, some not. One person, who has Reader 5.0 is unable to view PDFs linked through another PDF that were generated to 5.x compatibility using Distiller 6.0. Those of us with Adobe Reader 5.0 and 7.0 have no problems. This is a serious issue. The end-users of these PDF documents who use Adobe Reader 6.0 (thousands of them, potentially) will be unable to view these documents. A few of my internal people tried turning of the "view in browser" feature and this seemed to fix the problem for some of them, but we can't expect our users to know how to do this. If anyone has insights or solutions, I appreciate your help... Thanks! Lisa
