We recently changed from Applemacs to PC we are using Adobe Reader 7. We now can't open the Adobe files saved in subfolders about 4 levels down.

Any suggestions... configuration?

Thanks
Chris.

Chris,

What kind of server? What OS are you using? How are you connecting to the
server? Any special characters in the name of the file or folders in the
filepath? How long is the file path name?

2003 Small Business Server, Windows XP, hardwired, no special characters (some are old files that used to open with the macs. File path is drive/foldername/foldername/foldername/foldername/file name (same as it was with the macs.

Thanks
Chris.

Chris,

You still haven't mentioned how you are connecting to the server. When I asked
about the file path, I was interested in the length of path as characters. I
wonder if the path is too long. Does something like this work
/A/B/C/D/example.pdf?

I thought I answered it with 'hardwired' i.e. not wireless. Perhaps I'm missing the point? The example you use doesn't work.

is the file path longer than 255 characters?

Chris,

Mark's rephrasing hopefully clarified what I was asking. The question of how you
were connecting to the server was not a hardware question but a software
question. There are many different methods/protocols for connecting to a server.
Can you specifically tell us exactly how you are connecting the server?

Mike
