I downloaded Reader 7.0 full version. During installation process, it says "Setup has detected that you have a more functional product installed. Setup will now terminate."

This is the background situation. Recently, to fix a problem, I deleted all registry items with "Adobe" using regedit. After that, Adobe Reader does not start at all. Maybe, I erroneously deleted necessary files such as msi. Windows System Restore does not work. Please help.

Since you deleted all of your registry entries, I would reinstall the full version of Adobe reader again. That should re-populate your registry with the corrrect entries.

After I deleted all registry files, I deleted all files under Acrobat 7 folder (Program Files) using Safe Mode. Then, I installed the full version of Adobe Reader 7 and got the above error message.

I have a similar problem. I get the message "This version of Adobe Reader is already present on your computer. Installation will now exit."

I think we both need to know how to tell the installation program (or fake it) to think that adobe is not (and never was) installed on this machine.

Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility is your only hope, though after
such reckless registry hacking it might be impossible to recover.
