I've made a botch up of my adobe reader 7.08 - windows XP. I couldn't use the uninstall (somehow it is broken..) so went to manual removal of files in program>adobe>acrobat 7.08 etc - trashed all files. (Had to remove pdfshell.dll with command line etc).

Now that I try to run installer again, it tells me I have already installed 7.08 (which I don't) and so I can't install a complete new version.

Help ....!! (Do I need to tinker somewhere in regsitry??)

Thanks .. in anticipation.

HI:

I am in the same place.

I have Program Files
           ADOBE
             Acrobat 7.0...
                ActiveX
AcroIEHelper.dll (the only file under Acrobat)

and when I try to delete this HELP file, I get a message that it is
being used by another program.

If you figure out how to delete this file, lease let me know.

I cannot open Adobe reader 7.0.7 neither can I uninstall it or install over the top. The error message is :- Internal Error 2330.23
C\Program\Files\Adobe\Acrobat\7.0\Reader\plug-ins\VDKHome\ENU.Also I cannot access the plug-ins folder and get a message of :- Disk in drive C is not formatted do you want to format it now.

Help on this problem would be much appreciated.

That sounds very seriously wrong. Can you describe the steps which
lead up to getting this message?
