I cannot open a .pdf file from an attachment to an email. I can open one from a website. I can save the file to My Documents but still cannot open it. I am running Version 6.01 on Windows 2000 on a Dell Inspiron 8100 Laptop. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and this did not help.

It's probably corrupt.

Here's an FAQ on the subject or PDF and email: <http://www.adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bbad474/0>

I don't think that would be the problem. I can forward my email to myself and open it on another computer and be able to retrieve the .pdf file. It just won't open on my laptop.

Hmm.

Is the other computer running the exact version of Reader 6 as the first one?

Ok I guess we'll need some more information like what "exactly" happens when you try and open it? How are you trying to open it (File>Open, double clicking...etc)? Does the machine running 6.x have the most updated version of 6?

If you can post a link to the problem PDF, that would help too.

Nothing happens when I try to open it. I have double clicked, gone to File>Open, etc. to try and open it. When I do these, nothing at all happens. I am running 6.0.1.
I don't know how to post a link.
