I would like to create a CD for my father to install Reader. He's on dialup (rural area, doesn't offer high speed of any sort), so downloading 20MB would take way too long. All I want is a disc I can give him and say, "Click on install.exe, just like when you installed any other program." Thanks in advance, CricketB

Which version exactly? You can search this forum for "ftp" and you'll find numorous links to different versions.

Yep, "ftp" was the right thing to search for. (That's half the battle on help systems, knowing what it's called.) Looks like it's a common question. ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/7x/7.0.8/enu/AdbeRdr708_en_US.exe is 20MB, as expected. Thanks muchly! (As for version: "I'm having trouble opening PDF's from the internet, says I need a more recent version of Adobe or something. Running XP on the machine I got five years ago." I suspect 7.0.8 will fit the bill.)
