I have Acrobat 5 and installed Reader 7 some time back. For some reason Reader 7 will no longer open. I get a message that says the installation source is unavailable. I downloaded Reader 9 and tried to install it and got a message that said the install program was unable to remove Reader 7. When I tried to remove Reader 7 through the add/remove software option I received the same message, installation source not available. I really would like to update my Acrobat 5 but do not want to spend the money until I can get this issue fixed. Can anyone help me with this?

Also, I am now getting messages that say a few, not all, of my files are damaged and unable to be repaired. Have not had this problem before so I am wondering if these 2 problems are related.

Try downloading and running the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility to get rid of all traces of Reader. Then reinstall.
