I'm creating pdf files for review on a PC (Win XP SP2, Acrobat Pro 7, from InDesign CS2), enabling the commenting feature, and sending them out to an editor with a Mac. Somewhere between me sending the file and him receiving it (using, I believe, an up to date version of Reader) the document is not commentable. We've both opened the document properties to check this out, and the file I have reads Commenting: Allowed; whereas the file that he has reads Commenting: Not Allowed. Has this been encountered before, and - if so - is there a workaround? Thanks, Dave

I don't remember exactly, but I think you need to enable extended privileges in Reader which first became available in Acrobat 8. Mike

You can enable the PDF in 7 Pro (it's available under Comments) but they need to have Reader 7 or better to use it.
