I have yet to figure out why when I scroll through a pdf document a miniature window appears to the left of the scrollbar. It really drives me nuts, can it be disabled?

no idea. Can you elaborate a bit? What's in the window? Is it only doing this with PDF's from a certain place. What version of Reader?

It is a miniature window of the complete pdf document that moves up and down as you scroll. It happens on the previous and on the latest version of the reader.

Are you talking about page preview? There should be an X to close the window.
