I have the same problem, when I loaded the free download yesterday, many of my existing link icons changed to the adobe icon and now when I try to open them I get that message. Including the Reader icon. The programs will work if I open existing files from my desktop, just not the links. HELP! Thanks.

You may try searching the OS help section for "file associations".

Tracy, go to control panel > program > default program > make a file type.

The easiest is to run a repair install of Adobe Reader (Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs; select Adobe Reader, then click Change). That will fix all file associations (related to Adobe Reader).
