I have Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit and would like to install the 64bit version of Reader. When I use the Get Reader process it tries to install the 32 bit version of Reader 9. How do I go about getting the 64bit Windows Vista version of Reader 9, please?

Why do you think there is a 64-bit version of Reader? Do you think there is any benefit to be gained by a 64-bit version? Mike

Perhaps I am confusing information that states Reader supports 64bit Vista with there actually being a 64bit version of Reader. With 64bit Vista and XP having been out for some time I would think there should be a native 64bit version of Reader by now. As far as reasons, how about to take full advantage of the 8GB of RAM in my system. I like to multitask. If there isn't a 64bit version of Reader, is Adobe not going develop one?

As reader simply allows you to see pages and play movies and other audio files and some javascript, I can see no advantage to a 64bit version. It really has no need to address more memory. In the 64-bit version of Vista it can handle the multitasking between different applications 32-bit and 64 bit much better. But I cannot imagine a Reader file that could take advantage of the 64-bit memory space. I assume that Adobe will write a 64-bit version of Reader when it is a requirement of Windows. I think only Photoshop has a 64-bit version right now. If all other applications of the Master Collection were not re-written to take advantage of the 64-bit memory possibilities, I would think you'll have a long waiting line. But then again I do not speak for Adobe. ...Mike
