Major discrepancies appear when reading a PDF created under Apple Page and read with Acrobat Reader 9 on a PC! Any clues?

What discrepancies? Was the pdf created with Acrobat or the Mac OS
native PDF creation capabilities?

The Mac OS Pdf creation mechanism does not support a color management
workflow and neither does Pages. Disappearing text can have several
different causes. What type of font was used to generate the text? Is
the text part of a graphic?

I could retrieve all lost, changed items using an old Acrobat reader version 7! Seems to me the Mac OS PDF creation is not updated along with the original Adobe programs. I am looking now to generate PDF directly from original ADOBE on Apple. Concerning disappearing text some of the fonts were Apple specific but 98% were OK. Most of the lost text was mixed with graphical objects and pictures.

What happened from the missing text was related to the text in the
graphics. The graphic files did not include the font and most likely you
did not have the font on your system. The Mac OS couldn't handle text
formatted fonts that don't exist.
