I can download version 9 fine, when I go to install it, it stops at 99 percent and I get error 1714 that an older version of Adobe Reader 9 cannot be removed. I have a version 8 but no 9 installed on my computer. But now version 8 will not work either. What do I do?

I forgot to add that I am using a Compaq Presario PC with Windows XP I have tried downloading with Explorer and also with Mozilla Firefox. The only way I could read my PDF's was to download the Foxit reader after I could not install my version 9. I really miss my Adobe Reader! Betty

Download and run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. Google it to find the download.

I downloaded the MIcrosoft Installer Cleanup Utility but do not see a Adobe Reader 9 listed. It does have an 8.1.1 Listed. Should I remove that one?
