First let me say that I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro installed on my
Windows XP box but no Reader.

When I try to open a PDF link in Internet Explorer it says it can not
because I need Reader 8 or 9 installed even though I have Adobe
Acrobat 9 Pro installed.

I have no Reader of any version on system. I checked using the add /
remove programs applet plus did a search of HD for files starting with
read, adobe, etc. I can state for sure all I have is Adobe Acrobat 9
Pro installed.

Question is can I get Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to open PDF files in MSIE
and how or do I need to install the newest Reader (Which I DLed) even
though I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro?

Thanks much.

I had the same problem. I had both the adobe acrobat and the adobe reader
with the acrobat as the default. I installed the latest reader and changed
it to the default reader and was then able to open pdfs from the web browser
using IE.

When I print a pdf file using pdf factory, it still opens with adobe acrobat
which I prefer to use when possible.
